The Black Time Has Come by Alisonomi

Larry Busacca, Getty Images for CoachellaThe rise of the Black Sun

Innocent like a charcoal

Bitting mercilessly like cold

Ravaging force of the harmattan

But too long silenced like the death

In the past voluntarily subdued

Made to appear like a villain

Sold in the markets like cows

Dragged to plantations in the north

But always rebounded like a ball

Lupita Nyong'o and Letitia Wright in 'Black Panther' © 2017 - DISNEY/MARVEL STUDIOSMade vulnerable with reason

His language and culture vilified

His kids made to doubt themselves

And live and fight like betta splendens

Though guided home like Colobopsis explodens

Time has come for you to rise

You black children of the Mother Earth

And face your destiny like lions

Sight, fight, bite and shed your light

Pick yourselves up and walk head high

For the Black Time has indeed Come!

Amen

Sri Lanka - not even bombs can quench your light by Alisonomi

Over two thousand years in Jerusalem
Men thought to put an end to the light
They conspired to quench its source
But God 3 days later rekindled the flames
And from nothingness it rose victorious again

On this twenty first century of your history
Men have gathered once more to quench your light
They have conspired and attacked it at the source again
But God of light will surely the light of your nation preserve
And from this chagrin and trauma you will gloriously triumph

For how do we explain that humans light and life abhor?
Why on earth men plunge our world in darkness?
How do the sapiens life and joy continuously strip?
On whose name on earth do they still detonate bombs?
But we know that sooner or later life and light will always triumph

Sri Lanka, if the tombs didn’t hold Christ down
No amount of bombs can your nation cast down
Raise up your head and look forward to the light
For though long may last the night and the moon her cold cast
The day will at the end break and on you the sun her light will shine

No unkind Word did the Master utter by Alisonomi

Jesus Mafa No unfriendly word did we hear him utter

As the disciple on his cheeks did plaster

That ghosty kiss that had the saviour killed

And the drowsy hearts of the apostles chilled

It wasn’t like the gesture was to him a surprise

As he obviously knew that he would from it arise

But that one of his own was be the one used

Left unfortunately the master totally bemused

Funny enough Peter was somewhere by their side

And wanted to act before the master was taken aside

So, he quickly drew the machete with an effrontery

Forgetting that to him also awaits the test of gallantry

But the master in his unflinching stoic mood

Reminded him to over his cutlas put a hood

For the war at hand was not really his to fight

As he and the others would soon be overcome by fright

Is Interculturality a new Oblate Charism?

As a young black missionary priest from the Southern Hemisphere
Residing and working in this extensive and beautiful northern biosphere
I am on a regular basis confronted by series of new and diverse challenges
And the more I face those challenges the more they come with new packages
And though I’m intrigued by the complexity and intricacies of their intersectionality
I am consoled by the new dimension of our congregation's approach to interculturality

On the level of intersectionality, the challenges come from our multicultural diversity
But that multicultural diversity has become our source of blessings is now a new reality
Observe carefully our known and sometimes dreaded regional multi-generational landscape
We have come to regard it as a great richness that will eventually give our region a new shape
For the youths are happily learning from the elderly the beauty of perseverance and resilience
And the elderly are encouraged by their missionary initiatives and awesome pastorale brilliance

At the beginning, I thought interculturalism to be seen mainly from the point of view of ethnicity
But my experience is that such believe was not just naive but also a form of ethnocentricity
And the misconception originates from the inability to distinguish it from multiculturalism
This is why every international community should avoid the enthronement of ethnocentrism
As every effort to promote ethnocentrism and  foster a community of perfect homogeneity
Is a step towards killing the richness and beauty in diversity of every religious community

There exist another fact often ignored while forming a community with rich diversity
And that is, the benefits of members having talents and lifestyle that differ in variety
Those with multicultural backgrounds bringing along their great sense of communal life
While those from more industrialized culture, their respect of time to the last paragraph
And even those that struggle with time bring sometimes their sweet sense of humour
For the only thing worst than a religious community without some humour is a tumour

This is why for all the regions of our congregation, interculturality is all the more relevant
And in all the oblate units, the creation of intercultural communities has become prevalent

Mariage was easier in the past : That’s a Myth by Alisonomi

In the days of our grand parents, no girl cared which man she married
As long as the dude really came, enough palm wine and Kola carried
At that time, not knowing the husband-to-be was not for them a setback
Even if the man was old, ignorant and even had a serious hunch back
Because for them marriage was nothing but the only better way forward
And girls from their childhood were made to, always to it, look onward

But these days, for all the young girls out there, I have a bad news
But don’t fidget for I’m sure this will without doubt your heart renew
The truth is that mariage must not be like in the days of our grannies
When whoever got married, seriously taught to have won Grammies
No, it is time to accept it that marriage is surely not a do or die affair
So, do not silently pretend or die in a relationship that to you is unfair

I honestly pray that you do not, in anyway, get me wrong
For my faith in marriage, I publicly confirm to you is strong
But, I seriously do not want, any of my dear friends, on it tangled
For many have recently in the pass found themselves by it strangled
And since I am convinced that I can something, without bias, on it say
As I see that nowadays many of our young lads think it is only but a play

You might tell me our grannies on it looked really happy
But life in our days, I am sorry to say, is far much snappy
And they never even really had to struggle about school
Unlike in our days where life without school is no longer cool
You might also say that they even had so many mouth to feed
But they never had the issue of reading their kids Facebook feeds

I will comprehend if at all you do not fully understand what me say
But, please, take time to ask some parents, on that, how much they pay
Or how many days of sleepless nights, for them, your mistakes cause
And how a big chunk of their dear life, your adventure seldom gnaws
But you rather want to have them liked by that your Facebook friend
Because you don’t yet, the consequences of your actions, comprehend

So when you think of mariage, think not just who can, on your table, put food
But especially of how in years to come you will appreciate your own mood
Now as they regularly troop in with their different promises of this or that fun
Please, think first that mariage is also often about a good shoulder to lean on
And not always about what the guy possess or which car he taunt you with
For mariage is really an engagement that changes your life, not just a myth
